It’s easy to think that our success or failure depends on our work, while often missing the broader picture of what God has been doing through the decades.

While I love being part of today’s story, it is just a small part of something much bigger.

LIFE STORY: HENRY DOORN

More than Enough

Henry Doorn grew up in Oak Lawn, Illinois, the oldest of four boys. Life was simple but full, with ping pong games in the basement, summer trips to Wisconsin with cousins and a home marked by stability and love.

“I’ve come to realize that kind of upbringing is more of a blessing than I probably understood at the time,” he says.

Visionary Impact

Barnabas Foundation was born out of a series of insightful conversations among a group of savvy businessmen in the early 1970s. What started as a discussion about planned giving for a single ministry quickly evolved into a broader vision: a foundation that would educate and empower generous believers for greater Kingdom impact.

The idea took root, and Barnabas Foundation was officially launched as a nonprofit ministry in April 1976.
